Strange Beauty – The Art of the Surreal that displays a selection of surrealist creations dating from 1925 to 2015. The exhibition showcases surrealist sculptures, works on paper, and canvas that aim to surprise its viewer and
question the nature of art by the used materials and artistic methods merging reality and dreams into a super reality or surreality.
Developing in the aftermath of World War I as a
cultural, political, and philosophical movement, Surrealism had a profound impact on the global visual arts, literature, film, and music by
reflecting on what happened beneath surface of the rational mind. Contributing and revolutionizing the exploration of the unconscious state of mind surrealist artists like
Max Ernst and
Hans Arp, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, and
George Condo, shook up the cultural world with their visionary, strange, and automatic creations that
explored the subconscious.

Strange Beauty - The Art of the Surreal zu präsentieren, die eine Auswahl surrealistischer Kreationen aus den Jahren 1925 bis 2015 zeigt. Die Ausstellung zeigt surrealistische Skulpturen, Arbeiten auf Papier und Leinwand, die darauf abzielen, den Betrachter zu überraschen und das
Wesen der Kunst durch die verwendeten Materialien und künstlerischen Methoden in Frage zu stellen, indem sie Realität und Träume zu einer Superrealität oder Surrealität verschmelzen.

kulturelle, politische und philosophische Bewegung, die sich nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg entwickelte, hatte der Surrealismus einen tiefgreifenden Einfluss auf die bildende Kunst, die Literatur, den Film und die Musik, indem er darüber
nachdachte, was unter der Oberfläche des rationalen Verstandes passiert. Surrealistische Künstler wie

Hans Arp, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol und
