Black and White
The Exhibition where Colour doesn’t Matter
November 16 - December 21, 2020
Online Only
Galerie von Vertes presents Black and White – The Exhibition Where Colour Doesn’t Matter with works by Robert Indiana, Yayoi Kusama, Pierre Soulages, Günther Uecker, Bernar Venet, Victor Vasarely and Andy Warhol. The exhibition brings together works on paper, sculptures and canvasses that champion expression without the use of colour.
Since black and white both lack specific wavelengths they do not count as true physical colours. Often having been described as opposites the exhibition tries to capture their powerful potential that can be reached when united. Complementary forces of high aesthetic value that can enrich our narratives in unprecedented ways.
